CANCELLED FOR 2024

FOREST FIRE UPDATE

As of 7/8 at 5:00 PM MT

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the cancellation of this year’s Crusher in the Tushar event, scheduled for July 13, due to the ongoing Silver King and Little Twist forest fires in the Piute County area, home to more than half of the Crusher course, as well as extreme fire risk from record-breaking hot and dry temperatures.

We have made this difficult decision after:

  • Evaluating and consulting with a number of local resources
  • With respect for the local emergency services teams, working hard to protect their communities
  • With respect to the risk of extremely poor air quality. The safety of our athletes, volunteers, partners, and community, as well as the proper use of emergency services, are our top priorities.

We understand how disappointing this news is, and we appreciate your understanding and support during this challenging time. We are offering the following options for all registered participants:

  1. 40% Refund on Entry Fee: Per our Event Cancellation Policy, we will process a partial refund of your entry fee.
  2. Complimentary Deferred Entry: Secure your spot for next year’s Crusher in the Tushar at no additional cost.
  3. Donate Your Entry Fee: Contribute 100% of your entry fee to Beaver County Search and Rescue, helping them continue their crucial volunteer work during these emergencies.
    • If you donate your fee, you will receive a guaranteed, non-complimentary entry to the 2025 Crusher in the Tushar. Life Time will donate the entry on your behalf.

Please let us know your preferred option by July 17 by filling out the below form. We will ensure that all requests are processed as quickly as possible.

What’s a Tushar?

The Tushars are among Utah’s tallest mountain ranges, housing several peaks over 12,000 feet in elevation and featuring Utah’s highest road at an elevation of 11,500 feet. Straddling Beaver and Piute Counties and nestled in the expansive Fishlake National Forest, The Tushars possess stunning vistas, palpable solitude and nearly unlimited opportunities for unconfined recreation.

Welcome to Beaver!

The toughest 69.9 miles on the planet. This uniquely-formatted race begins in historic downtown Beaver, the birthplace of famed outlaw Butch Cassidy and finishes at Utah’s newest ski and Summer resort, Eagle Point. Featuring a 60/40 split of gravel to tarmac gravel sectors, it affords riders the opportunity to explore the stunning backcountry of Utah’s little-known Tushar Mountains and Fishlake National Forest.
